Just wanted to let everybody know, that I just finished coding of 2 new releases! The inital release of WorldView Live and the 2nd update for the free edition.
What's new in the free edition:
- Bugfix for the sorting issue
- Anonymous Backup & Restore of bookmarks on the WorldView Server
- Added spanish translatin (Thanks to Julio!!)
WorldView Live 1.0 will include a bugfix for the problem Apple detect AND the these additional features over the free edition:
- Import bookmarks from the free edition (if they are backed up)
- Search webcams using a worldmap, where markers show positions of known webcams
- Search suggestions, e.g. you type "Paris" and you will get a list of places called "Paris", then you can choose the right one and it will search for all webcams around the center of that place. No matter if the webcams title contains the string "Paris" or not!
- Live webcams for around 400 webcams at start, the number will grow weekly!
- Manual webcams, enter your own URLs of webcams
- Video stream support (Motion-JPEG)
- Disable automatic refresh, to reload images when you want it to
- Landscape list view
- ... and many more enhancements ...
We are already planning the next versions (e.g. zoom, bookmark groups, ...) and hope you will like these new versions of WorldView!
Update 2008/11/30: We just sent both releases to Apple!

I am not happy with World View Live's add your own cam feature. I've been waiting for this for a long time. This is NOT like Locations. I do not want to add my private cam to your server/database. I want to add my cam in the App and that is it. PLEASE make World View Live like Locations.

just bought and downloaded the live version.The video cams are awesome !
And the refresh of cams is really nice, I expected this feature since the first version of locations.

The only serious issue I care is the icon of the app.. I didn't like it at all...
so nothing really important, personnaly I change it with winterboard, so...

@Patrick: Adding your own cams WILL NOT add them to my or WorldViews database. URLs you add are yours only!
Once again, when adding a webcams URL inside the app using "Add URL" feature, it will NOT be added to any database on my side. The backup feature can 1) be turned off and 2) does only backup your data. I do not touch that data and even don't know who's data what is.
If both these things are not what you meant, then please tell me. I really think that you got what you want...
